Short History

The Museum of Prienai region was founded in 1995 by founder and first curator Antanina Aleknaviciene. The museum was established in the prewar house of Cezar Psemenecki (1887-1967), the famous person of Prienai, educator, public figure, the first director of Prienai Electric Networks Company. In 2005 the decade anniversary of our museum was marked in state and nicely.

In 2001- 2003 The Museum of Prienai region was directed by Vytautas Zagurskas. In 2004- 2006 the curator of museum was Algis Marcinkevicius. Since 2007 the curator is Virginija Mascinskiene.
