The museum was established in the fatherland of the poet, prose writer, playwright, literary historian and professor Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas in 1971
|
Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas’ parents were wealthy peasants who had a large family, in which Vincas was the eldest son |
- Behind the poet’s childhood house, there is a garden he liked very much.
- From the homestead yard, one can see a beloved hill, the Hill of the Dawn (Lithuanian – Aušrakalnis), where birches, planted by the poet, are growing.
- Now Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas’ relatives live in the homestead and take care of its beauty. Everyone interested is more than welcome to visit this place.
The poet’s childhood atmosphere manifests itself in the guest room where his family’s furniture, photos and books are exhibited. |
